After losing 7-6 (0) 5-7 6-4, Kyrgios slammed his rocket to the floor, which retreated and nearly hit a topboy. The 28-year-old also insulted a fan during the match, as he constantly clashed with the crowd and the referee’s chair.

Kyrgios was fined $ 20,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct and fined $ 5,000 for audible indecency, an ATP spokesman said in a statement.
Nadal said after the match that the ATP had to review things and make decisions to prevent the recurrence of similar incidents. Some players have called for tougher penalties to limit misbehavior following a series of incidents in recent games.
