The NBA did not set double standards regarding Dillon Brooks. On the occasion of the second duel between the Memphis franchise and the Golden State Warriors, the Grizzlies winger was guilty of a serious foul on Gary Payton II. From the start of the match, as the latter was heading towards the basket, Dillon Brooks went to unbalance it in the air. Badly hit after this air strike, the Warrior leader could not restart the match when the perpetrator was immediately expelled from the arbitral tribunal in charge of the meeting. While the Californian is suffering from a broken elbow and has to be out for an estimated period of one month, the North American league has taken up the issue and decided to sanction the Grizzlies player.

Brooks will lose Game 3 against the Warriors
In a press release, the NBA confirmed this Thursday the extension of the sanction affecting Dillon Brooks. While last January, in a similar case, the NBA suspended Grayson Allen for a post-foul game against Alex Caruso, the Memphis Grizzlies winger received the same sanction. “Dillon Brooks has been suspended for a free game for causing excessive and unnecessary contact against Golden State Warriors goalkeeper Gary Payton II, causing significant injury,” the NBA announced. This suspension will be served this Saturday when the Grizzlies travel to Chase Center to challenge the Golden State Warriors in the third Western Conference semifinal match between the two teams. A series in which the two formations draw a victory for each of them.
